Sportsklubben Brann can make history with a goal against Sandefjord on Sunday. Scoring would mark Brann's 14th consecutive Eliteserien match with a goal, their longest run since scoring in the final 16 matches of 2024. This is reported by Bergensavisen.
Brann currently sit sixth in the Eliteserien with 25 points from 17 games. The team has scored 36 goals and conceded 27, with a +9 goal difference. They trail league leaders Bodø/Glimt by 16 points. Their last league match was a 3-2 home win against Rosenborg on August 2nd, and they face Lillestrøm at home on September 5th.
Which records are at stake?
A goal at Jotun Arena would also be Brann's 12th consecutive league goal at that ground. Sandefjord have never kept a clean sheet at home against Brann in the top flight. If Brann avoid conceding, it will be the first time since last September they keep clean sheets in two straight league matches. Back then, they kept Sandefjord out away (3-0) and Fredrikstad at home (1-0).
Brann have not won two consecutive away league matches since August last year. That run featured wins against Sarpsborg 08 (4-1) and Tromsø (2-1). A win on Sunday would also be the first time in nearly a year the club wins three official matches in a row. The last time was in October last year with victories over Haugesund (4-1), Rangers (3-0) and Rosenborg (3-2).
What does Brann's away form look like?
Brann have not lost an away match since May 24th, when Bodø/Glimt won 3-1 at Aspmyra. Avoiding defeat on Sunday would mark the first time this year they play six consecutive official away matches unbeaten. The last time they played eight straight away matches without losing was just over a year ago.
The team's last away game was a 4-0 cup win over Fyllingen. In the league, Brann have scored in eight consecutive away matches, their longest run since the final twelve matches of 2024. The last time they failed to score away in the league was when Molde won 4-0 on November 22nd last year. Brann's record at Jotun Arena is strong with four wins and four draws in their last eight visits. Their last defeat there came on March 16th, 2009.
What would a win mean for the league position?
A victory would give Brann 28 points after 18 matches. In the three previous seasons following promotion, the team had between 30 and 36 points at this stage. If Brann score in Sandefjord, they will have at least 37 goals after 18 league rounds. That would be the club's highest goal tally at this point since Teitur Thordarsson's team had 50 goals in 2001. In the championship-winning 2007 season, Brann had no more than 36 goals after 18 games.

How has the transfer window affected the squad?
Brann have had a busy transfer period with several departures and arrivals. Six transfers were completed in the Norwegian Football Federation's system on Friday and Saturday. The players who left the club are Cheikh Diop (20), Denzel De Roeve (22), Lars Remmem (20), and Rabbi Matondo (25). The new arrivals are Leo Cornic (25) and Neraysho Kasanwirjo (24). Earlier in the window, Brann sold Felix Horn Myhre and Rasmus Holten, and sent Markus Haaland and Martin Hellan out on loan.
Sporting director Per-Ove Ludvigsen confirms the club is largely done with its business. "Our starting point is that we are finished in this window, yes," said Ludvigsen. "With the caveat that things can always come up at the last minute." Manager Eirik Horneland expressed satisfaction with the squad composition. "I am very pleased. I believe we now have a squad with players who can lift us now and at the same time help shape us into the future," Horneland said.
With a point in Sandefjord, Brann will have gone six matches unbeaten. Their last defeat was at home to Apollon on August 5th. The clash with Sandefjord is an important step before facing fifth-placed Lillestrøm next weekend. A win would provide a significant boost ahead of that fixture.
