Brann dominated Vålerenga in the top league match with a solid win. Before the summer break, it seems that the Bergen team is storming towards a new league title. Now the gap at the top of the table is nine points down to the nearest challenger. After a fairly even first half, Brann was served a gift package by Vålerenga's Stine Brekken just before the break. American Brenna Lovera thanked her for it and sent the Bergen team up 1-0. Brann's Amalie Eikeland doubled the lead with a fantastic goal. From a skewed position, the 30-year-old lifted her gaze and lifted the ball in a perfect arc over Vålerenga goalkeeper Liva Petersson. Substitute Anna Aahjem sniffed out a new netting on a return from VIF goalkeeper Petersson and pushed in 3-0. The win means that the gap between Brann and Vålerenga is now 12 points. Brann's players were well pleased with the win. – Very fun. This was totally fantastic, and it's always delicious to beat Vålerenga, said Anna Aahjem. Brann's coach was also well pleased with the match. – It was a good match, and we got a good win, he said. Brann's next match is against Aalesund. – We just have to keep playing well and winning matches, said Amalie Eikeland. Brann has a good chance of winning the league title this season. – We have a good group of players, and we work well together, said Brenna Lovera.
