Brann Aims for Rabbi Matondo
Brann Bergen is on the verge of securing a significant acquisition as they prepare to sign out-of-favour winger Rabbi Matondo from Rangers. The 25-year-old, who has been with Rangers since 2019, is set to leave Ibrox three months before his contract expires. Brann hopes to secure Matondo's services for a substantial sell-on fee should he move on again, all before the Norwegian transfer deadline on Tuesday.
Transfer Speculations Continue
Meanwhile, Rangers are keeping an eye on other potential transfers. Head coach Danny Rohl is keen to make permanent deals for 23-year-old centre-half Nasser Djiga after his successful loan spell from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The club might stretch their transfer budget to the £8m option to buy Djiga.
The departure of Ben Davies, a 30-year-old centre-half who played a bit-part role on loan at Oxford United, is imminent this summer. Davies was close to signing with Celtic before joining Rangers from Liverpool in 2022 but has struggled for playing time under new manager Lee Johnson.
Celtic and Rangers have shown interest in Tyrese Campbell, the 26-year-old striker who is poised to enter his final year of contract with Sheffield United. Both clubs kept tabs on him when he was leaving Stoke City in 2020 but are now back in the picture as he prepares for a potential move.
Other transfer news includes Fares Ghedjemis remaining a target for Celtic, despite their initial inability to meet Frosinone's demands earlier this year. Scotland striker Lyndon Dykes believes his move to Charlton Athletic has reignited his hopes of being Steve Clarke's main man in the upcoming World Cup.
Lastly, Rangers have requested Bojan Miovski be released from international duty with North Macedonia before their friendly against Republic of Ireland. The 26-year-old striker is unhappy at being a substitute for the World Cup play-off against Denmark and has expressed his dissatisfaction to the club.
