Brann Investigates Glass Throwing Incident – Will Ban Those Responsible
Apollon Limassol’s goalkeeper Philipp Kühn reported that he nearly got hit by objects thrown from the stands during Wednesday’s match against Brann. The club has confirmed the incident.
Elisabeth Hobrad, head of operations at Brann, stated in an official statement to Bergens Tidende: - 'It included small glass bottles being thrown among other things.'
Brann's security personnel will conduct a new review of video footage today. The club has zero tolerance for such behavior and, according to their guidelines, it could result in banishment from the arena and up to 20 matches.
Kühn expressed his frustration after speaking with Bergens Tidende following the match: - 'You can’t throw glass at people on the street, so why is it acceptable to do it at a stadium? We are not in a zoo.'
Brann could also face potential fines from UEFA for this incident.
The team lost the game 0-1 and faces a tough challenge in Tuesday's return match in Cyprus.
