Brann were close to signing Magnus Knudsen, but AGF intervened and secured the player. According to Viaplay, Knudsen chose AGF over Brann. He also played for the Danish team from 2023 to 2024 before moving to German side Holstein Kiel, who were relegated from the top tier in Germany in his first season.
What happened?
AGF's football director Carsten V. Jensen tells Viaplay that the deal was expensive for them because they took over the agreement that Knudsen had already negotiated with Brann. The central midfielder has previously played for Lillestrøm and came on as a substitute when Brann beat them 2-0 in the cup final in 2023.
What does it mean for Brann?
Brann are currently 4th in the Eliteserien with 56 points, 17 wins, 5 draws and 8 losses from 30 games, and have a recent form of WLDLL. They are 15 points behind leaders Viking and have scored 55 goals and conceded 46 goals this season.
What's next?
Brann play their next game against Bodo/Glimt at home on September 20, 2026. This could be an important game for Brann, who are looking to maintain their position in the top of the table. With a win, they can get closer to the leaders and increase their chances of winning the league.
