Julian Lægreid will make his senior debut for Brann in their cup tie against Os. The young player is named in the starting lineup for the match, which kicks off at 6pm on Direktesport.
Brann enter the match following a recent defeat to Start, which extended a difficult run of form. The team currently sits eighth in the Eliteserien with 26 points from 20 games. A win in the cup could provide a vital boost ahead of next weekend's key home fixture against league leaders Bodø/Glimt. Brann have played 20 games this season, and the team's next match is against Bodø/Glimt at home.
Several absentees
The squad is dealing with several injury absences. Eggert Aron Gudmundsson, Kjartan Kjartansson, Nana Kwame Boakye, Sakarias Opsahl and Sondre Tronstad all remain sidelined. Niklas Castro has also picked up a minor knock and is unavailable. This opens the door for other players to get an opportunity.
The lineup
Goalkeeper Simen Vidtun Nilsen starts between the posts. The defence consists of Thore Pedersen, Fredrik Pallesen Knudsen and Vetle Dragsnes. In midfield are Joachim Soltvedt, Kristian Eriksen, Jacob Lungi Sørensen and Niklas Jensen Wassberg. The attack features Kristall Mani Ingason and top scorer Noah Holm, who has six goals this season, alongside debutant Lægreid.
On the bench, Brann have Mathias Lønne Dyngeland, Leo Cornic, Bård Finne, Ulrik Mathisen, Jonas Torsvik, Neraysho Kasanwirjo, Sævar Atli Magnusson and Andreas Wilhelmsen. A victory over Os would send Brann through to the third round of the cup later this autumn. Tickets for the home match against Bodø/Glimt next weekend are already close to selling out.
