Start secured a 2-1 victory in a friendly match against Brann on Friday. A second-half own goal from Frederik Knudsen proved to be the decisive moment.
Kasper Eriksen gave Brann an early lead, finding the net in the fourth minute. Start responded quickly, with Henrik Lorentzen equalising just six minutes later to make it 1-1. The match remained evenly balanced for a long spell with few clear-cut chances.
The turning point arrived in the 67th minute. Frederik Knudsen was unfortunate to divert the ball into his own net, handing Start a 2-1 advantage which they held until the final whistle.
This result comes after Brann lost the previous meeting between the sides in the league by the same 2-1 scoreline. Brann currently sit seventh in the Eliteserien table with 29 points from 21 games, having scored 39 goals and conceded 32 this season.
Their next challenge is a tough home fixture against league leaders Viking on Friday, October 9th.
